Today our class celebrated International Dot Day! International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration. We started the day by reading The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.
After reading the book, we had a discussion about leaving your mark on the world and being a positive role model for someone. Each student created their own dot. We were able to bring these dots to life using the colARmix app. We also watched a few videos that hopefully will inspire the children to go out and leave a positive mark on society.
